My walk into wild buffalo…
Several years ago I used to hunt elk by special permit drawing in the Teton Park, Wyoming. One particular hunt near the last day of my last hunt there, we were hunting around Moran Junction. This was a new area for us and we hiked to some foot hills near some steeper bluffs in the distance. From our vantage point, we could just make out some dark blotches just below some trees.
As I got closer I discovered these dark blotches were in fact a dozen or so wild buffalo. I thought the only buffalo was in the Yellowstone Park, but apparently these buffalo did not read the park boundary markers. We ended up without an elk that trip, but we did come home with some unforgettable memories and story of walking into a small herd of wild buffalo that none of us would ever forget!
