Vintage fishing nets as wall decorations are a great recognizable fishing piece for the fishing lodge, cabin or rustic home. View, shop, and get inspired fishing décor ideas.
Nets have been around even before fishing poles. Hand nets with fishing lines allowed for landing or boating more fish. Pulling a heavy fish on a light line to the bank or lifting the fish over the gunnels of a boat could cause the hook to pull free or break the line under the weight of the fish.
Putting the net in the water too soon will cause a fish to “spook” so dip the net well under the fish with a purpose at the right time catching the head when you do so and pull the net up with a scooping motion. Vintage dip nets were made of wood with netting connected. Hand nets for trout and larger dip nets for larger fish make great fishing room decorations.
