Add the taste of travel to your home with the look and feel of vintage styled steamer trunks. Trunks and chest make exquisite rustic decorative pieces that are functional for storage in the rustic décor home.
Who put the steamer in the trunk?
Before the age of the suitcase, travel took longer for extended periods to get to point a to point b. Steamer trunks to their name from voyages and travel upon steam ships, where the passengers packed their belongings in travel “trunks”. Steam powered the ships in the 18th century and the early 20th century and the luggage got the name “steamer trunks”. Pictured above, are two vintage trunks that I purchased in an auction and I found some reproduction period stamp decals to further decorate them, giving them the look of being well-traveled.
