Bull riding rope | No bull! We have great Western Decor!
Nothing is more cowboy than a bull rope hanging on the wall! A plait hand braided bull riding rope with laced handle with cowbells to most is a piece of art all by itself. Here is my old bull riding rope hanging in our western themed addition. Browse the bull ropes and other rodeo items below.
Cowbells on the bull riding rope?
The cowbell or cowbells do have a function other than the sound they make. When the bull is in the bull pens, the bulls are guided down a narrow double fence that leads the bull into the riding chute. If you are ever behind the scenes you will see the cowboy drop the end of the rope, bells first down the side of the bull. The bells give the end of the rope weight when dropping the weight down the bull’s side, so he can reach under the bull with a hook to catch the looped end of the rope and then tether the rope temporarily on his back. The final cinch up takes place in the chute, which we all see the cowboy getting his final grip on the rope.
